Systems Engineer in our Arlington, VA office and customer sites in the National Capital Region (Bethesda, MD). The successful candidate will analyze user s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications in an agile and fast paced development environment supporting research, rapid prototyping, and integration of a data analytic pipeline in support of intelligence community analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems with Publicly Available Information (PAI) and DOMEX data.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Work closely with other software developers, network engineers, senior investigators, program managers, researchers, data analysts, digital forensic examiners and other intelligence analysts on agile teams to design and optimize a Data Science platform (DOMEX Data Discovery Platform D3P) to produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to publications and presentations. - Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.- Guide users in formulating requirements, alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment and preparation of system engineering management plans, and system integration and test plans. - Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving, identifying, transforming, and exploiting new publicly available information (PAI) data sources, thinking outside the box, and a strong sense of accountability is desired - Mix of technical excellence, intellectual curiosity, customer-focus, and operational experience to improve the performance and user adoption of high-end data analytics platforms in partnership with a highly qualified, highly motivated team. - The successful systems engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary research, development, and fusion analytics team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with research scientists, analysts, and other technologists to develop applications and tools to meet the mission requirements. - Individual must be motivated, self-driven team player who can multi-task and interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on systems engineering and software development related issues.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below- B. S.

in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or related field, and 2 total years experience - 2 years experience in scripting (Perl, Python) - 2 years (concurrent) experience with high level programming language:
C#, C++, Java or Visual Basic- Must have an active TS/SCI DoD security clearance - Experience in Commercial and/or Government Cloud environments (AWS, C2S, etc.

)- Experience with Elasticsearch

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration- Experience in IC analysis tools (e. g., iBase/Analyst s Notebook, Palantir, etc.

) - Experience in Geospatial data and the development of geospatially based analytical models - Experience in Text processing:
natural language processing (NLP), named entity recognition (NER), entity disambiguation, entity extraction, part-of-speech (POS) tagging, searching (e. g., Lucene), topic extraction, summarization, clustering, etc.
