Jack - ADOPTION PENDING!! Beagle Adult - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Arlington, Virginia

$350

Jack was found as a stray in the middle of a snow storm and was in terrible shape - starved, infected skin, ears, and feet. He had been on his own awhile, and was exhausted. He mostly slept the first week in his foster home. His foster parents did a great job nursing him back to health, and teaching him how to trust, and be part of a family.

Jack looks and acts like a different dog now. Initially, he was very standoffish with his foster parents, and needed time to trust his surroundings. Now he comes to his foster parents wanting to be petted, and will lay beside them on the couch to snuggle. He now understands that people can be good.

Jack is a very laid back dog. His foster mom describes him as a couch potato. He's crate trained, potty trained, great with cats and others dogs, and has become a much more confident, social dog. While he's not had a lot of leash walking practice, he walks pretty well on leash, and was great on transport day greeting all the other dogs and volunteers.

FOSTER UPDATE - 4/14/18

Jack immediately adjusted to life at the Good household. Both of our cats have accepted him and with a very short "testing" time. I believe his laid-back personality and low energy were keys to that. Twice he had to use his inside voice to tell them he didn't want to be picked on and everything was smooth running after that. Neither cat finds him at all intimidating. My one cat, Turkey, especially, likes his new friend.

Sophie, my granddaughter, and our resident 4 year old expert found the perfect friend in Jack. He will stay curled up beside anyone and loves getting pets from both small and big people alike. She took him for a walk without any problems, and he loves to cuddle with her.

Jack has to be "helped" into the crate. If left alone in the crate while you are in the house, he will howl, but I leave him crate when I leave for an extended period and he does fine. He's housebroken, and has not had a single accident in the house. I'm letting him roam free and he sleeps with us at night. I have found he has more of a cat disposition to his daily activities...he curls up and sleeps a lot of the time and is very laid back inside the home.

We are enjoying our newest addition, and I know whoever might want a little beagle, he will delight with his personality, and make a great family dog.

This handsome boy is ready to start his new life. Who can resist that adorable, sweet face and winning disposition...Apply today!
