The BAE Systems Inc Talent Manager role based in Arlington, VA and reporting to the VP, Talent Solutions Center of Expertise, will support BAE Systems US- based business as required, but with a focus on US headquarters leaders and functions and HR center of expertise employees.In this role, the Talent Manager is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of Talent Management, including the implementation of key processes related to succession planning, talent reviews, talent committee, high potential assessment and development, and with providing solutions to close development and capability gaps, but to also retain talent.In addition, the Talent Manager is responsible for managing employees in the Human Resources Leadership Development Program to include managing rotations and providing coaching.The Talent Manager serves as a knowledgeable and strategic advisor/partner to the VP, Talent Solutions HR leadership, and with peers located in the business and will assist with identifying and developing key talent to grow the business, build current and future capability, and achieve long-term business success.The ideal candidate for this role knows how to influence leaders to move them to action and understands business strategy and can translate strategy into an executable plan that will help leadership address key talent and associated human capital needs that are directly related to the successful delivery of business outcomes and performance.The Talent Manager will partner closely with Human Resources colleagues and leadership but he/she will also partner on cross-functional projects and work with other professionals in the business and in the Talent Solutions CoE.The Talent Solutions COE also provides a flexible 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, an end-of-year week long paid shutdown and a 6% match, with immediate vesting, on 401(k) contributions.Expected travel - 15%Minimum Education And ExperienceBachelors Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills And EducationMinimum Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree and 15 years work experience with at least 10 years of HR experience and 3-5 years of Talent Management experienceExperienceKnows "mechanics" of succession planning, leadership assessments, career pathing, and performance management processesDemonstrated capability in developing high potential employees to include coaching, creating actionable development plans and recommending appropriate development experiencesDemonstrated skill at leading, managing and facilitating talent review and succession planning discussionsDemonstrated ability to learn and talk the language of "the clients business"Experience communicating the integrated talent story through effective use of data in formal and informal presentationsSkills / CompetenciesPossesses leadership presence and professional demeanor and is able to maintain when ideas/recommendations may be met with resistance and disagreementDevelops and maintains effective relationships with a broad group of stakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisionsIs comfortable working with and influencing senior leadersIs collaborative and a team player and is able to work with a high degree of independenceIs a creative problem solver; formulates recommendations using data to clearly demonstrate the value of the solutionIs results oriented; can managing multiple priorities, delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure; drives ideasCan be both direct and forceful while remaining diplomatic.Excellent written, verbal and presentation/communication skillsOpen-minded and flexible in in both thought and tacticsStays current with talent management strategy, trends and best practices.
